Copies of Decisions

Attempts to obtain copies of written arbitration decisions should be directed to the parties to the dispute. In general, arbitration decisions are private records, and the arbitrator is constrained in releasing them. Some decisions in the public sector are protected as personnel matters, while other decisions are treated as public records.

Finding public sector arbitrations in the United States

In general, arbitration decisions are for the most part private and confidential and they are published only if the parties and the arbitrator agree on making the decision available. There are a variety of commercially available services which publish those decisions.

In addition, and in the case of arbitration awards involving public employment, sometimes those decisions are available through the corresponding state public employment/labor relations agencies. Below is a list of states which make available public employment arbitration awards. The list indicates what kind of awards are available.
